Continuing our global tour, Travelle talked to Fer Espiritu of Spirit of Styles, for style and beauty tips when traveling to Mexico City. Born and raised in Mexico, she is a stylish girl and jetsetter, who always wants to share with you her love and knowledge for fashion, style and travel.
What are some general tips you would share with women travelers to Mexico City?
Bring out some nice outfits for the nightlife - places like Polanco and La Roma - and comfy shoes for walking downtown.
What would you recommend a lady wear to work meetings in Mexico City?
A little black skater dress with some nice heels.
Are there any specific pieces/brands that you love right now for a work wardrobe?
Yes! I love a silk bow I have from Anna Fontaine - it goes perfectly with any blouse - Zara for trending items and BCBG for jackets or any coat.
How would you describe the local street style? What do local women wear on a day to day basis?
On a casual day I'll just grab a skirt with a nice jacket and my favorite heels . On a day to a day basis women just grab their favorite jeans and some nice heels.
What staple pieces do you pack for a work or leisure trip?
Some formal black trousers or a black blazer.
Any evening outfits you'd recommend for a fun dinner or drinks?
Yes, I'll go for some denim shorts, my gladiators and a classic leather jacket.
When it comes to beauty products, what should a woman bring to take care of herself in Mexico City that might be different from anywhere else in the world?
The sun is killer so I would recommend a sun block, a lip balm, and a good hydrating cream.
What are the most popular exercise studios in the city that you would recommend?
I love running around the lake of Chapultepec: there’s nothing like nature.
Do you have favorite places to eat where you can find amazing food with health conscious ladies in mind?
Yes I love Suntory for Japanese healthy food, Ivore in Polanco for French food and the best Mexican food is in a restaurant called El Cardenal. And I also love Azul Historico downtown - it has a rooftop view, don't miss it!
Any places to stay with great facilities, a spa, great beauty products and the like that cater towards women?
St. Regis is the best option!
